Our Autumn Show is always a very popular event, and this year was no exception, the weather kind, and everyone making the most of the last of the summer.

In a surprise turn around from recent results, Anna Gregory snatched victory in the Supreme Championship from her twin sister Amy, who was as usual riding Jean McNaughton's Trevarth Sir Galahad . Anna, riding Graham Laity's chestnut mare Bet Fayre , had previously won the Open Best Combination class and then clinched the Fun Ring Championship to qualify. Interestingly, Anna had also taken second place to Amy in the Novice Working Hunter, following which Galahad and Amy had taken the WH Championship at their first attempt. Anna was delighted with her win, continuing the friendly rivalry between the sisters.

The big-winning combination of the New Forest stallion Woodrow Portman and Lucy Booth took the Reserve Championship in the Registered Ring, and also won the Native l3.2hh and Under Working Hunter class to clinch the Reserve W.H. Championship under Judge Heather Matthews. Portman also carried Laurie Booth to victory in the Veteran Rider class, where some of the braver souls competed in front of their somewhat disrespectful offspring!

A delighted Oliver Laity took the Reserve Championship in the Fun ring, under the eye of Judge Emily Jones . He was riding his new pony Rillaton Fairtrade.

Lucy Booth took the Midi jumping on her new mount Woodrow Liberty , and on the more experienced and successful Woodrow Harrison took the Maxi to add to her list of wins on the day.

The day ended with the ever popular and hotly contested Trotting Race, where Amy Gregory and Trevarth Sir Galahad pounded to victory down the home straight, to narrowly snatch victory once again, and to claim the trophy.

Many thanks to Jo and Tony Lutey for the kind use of the field, Debbie, Fred Kellow and Ryan Ward for organising and running the Show so efficiently, the Judges for their time and expertise, and all the stewards, and helpers that helped the Show to run so successfully.
